Google’s Tough Loss

One of the most devastating defeats a large corporation can have is being nailed by anti-trust laws. A federal judge ruled Monday that Google was found to be in violation of anti-trust laws. Specifically it violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act. Expectedly, Google aims to appeal the motion and argued that their search engine is arguably the best and did not practice illegally to become so.

Consequences And Possibilities

Google’s plan to draw out and stall any ramifications that may come soon is already underway. Mehta, Google’s CEO, is already pressing forward with the aforementioned appeal. This has the potential to draw out any action from this by a magnitude of years due to the scope of the business involved.

Potentially this will shake up the search engine landscape as Google Chrome now sees itself under fire from the legal system. This could mean the company will be forced to advertise other platforms aside theirs whenever a user downloads their search engine.

It is also laughably expected that they pay a fine. The fine is insignificant in any case when compared to being forced to showcase your competition. No matter the outcome, this is being seen as a landmark case across the country.
